Recently, SBDC Counselor Vicki Lynne Morgan traveled to China to participate as a speaker at Pet Fair Asia (www.petfairasia.com), held August 24 – 27 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The annual event is the largest exhibition for pet supplies and aquariums in Asia, with 1400 exhibitors expected for 2018.
Morgan, who is president of Animal Brands and a business development advisor, spoke on the topic of “Developing Strategic, Profitable Global Pet Food Marketing Plans.” Her presentation described how generational preferences, business practices and trends in world culture are changing at a rapid pace, while global competition, new technologies, innovative products, relentless cost cutting and proliferation challenge conventional marketing wisdom. With 40 years of marketing and selling in the pet industry, she has experience as a PSS professional sales trainer, is ISO 9000 certified in marketing and selling and is a certified guerrilla marketing coach. Previous speaking engagements have included Global Pet Expo, H.H. Backer Trade Shows, Petfood Forum and SBA-sponsored American Small Business Development national conferences.
