During a special Economic Vitality Awards Luncheon held Monday, Dec. 10 at the Palace at Somerset Park, Linda Dousis – longtime counselor for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Raritan Valley Community College — was honored for her role at the Center guiding small business owners, as well as her leadership in the Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP) organization. Starting in November 2006, Linda joined the SBDC@RVCC as a small business counselor, providing entrepreneurs and established business owners with guidance on general and financial aspects of starting and managing a business. She also served as an instructor for several QuickBooks training courses offered by the SBDC and as a consultant to the state SBDC office. In her role at the Business Partnership, which she joined soon after becoming an SBDC counselor, Linda served as Chair of the Ambassador and Member Value and Engagement committees, as well as serving on numerous other committees. She was also a Board member, serving on the Finance Committee, and in 2014, as Treasurer. As she retires from these organizations this year, the SCBP recognized her commitment to providing guidance and expertise to small businesses in the community, presenting her with the SCBP 2018 Special Recognition Award.
